Developing a new skill of any kind takes patience, practice, and being okay with messing up--sometimes a LOT! Getting frustrated is a normal and reasonable emotional response to a challenging situation. However, while some kids are able to feel their frustration and move on, others struggle to do so.
If your child frequently shuts down, throws a tantrum, or engages in negative self-talk ("I suck at math! I'm so dumb!"), there's a good chance that they could use some support with managing their frustration.
Come Connect and Reflect on Tuesday, 3/26 from 6 - 7:30 pm in the Library with our counselor, Roxanne Rapaport, to learn about factors that impact your child's ability to regulate this emotion and strategies you can use to help them.
