The Parents' Association (PA) is the collective title for all parents or guardians of current St. Francis students. Every parent or guardian of a child enrolled at St. Francis is automatically a member.
Purpose
The PA plays an important role at St. Francis. Here are our core initiatives:
- Improve communication between the school, parents, students, and surrounding community
- Establish and run supplemental school funding programs
- Promote and coordinate volunteerism
- Encourage parental involvement
- Support our Teachers and Staff where needed
- Develop goals to ensure an association that is both facilitative and visionary in nature
Activities
We have a number of parents heading up some really exciting projects and services. Here are some examples:
After School Clubs (Monika Scoville, Anne Weiss, Ally Shircliff)We offer a plethora of entertaining, educational after school activities for the kids. If you’d like to start a club or lead an activity, get in touch with our coordinators at [email protected]. You can check out schedules and clubs on our After School Club page.
Auction Events (Amy Rosenfield)Trust us when we say Amy knows how to throw an auction party! And all the proceeds go to a great cause: The care and education of your kids. Learn more about the upcoming auction event on our Spirit Auction page (linked). Or contact her at [email protected].
Teacher Appreciation (Jamie Knowles, Amy McDonald, Andrea Taylor Dwinell)
Without the teachers and the wonderful work they do, there would be no St. Francis school. So, every month this group coordinates events to show our teachers just how much we appreciate their amazing work. If you'd like to contribute, please click our link here.
Harvest Festival (Jenn Loiselle)This one is a family favorite! Every year, the PA helps coordinate the Harvest Festival full of games, activities, food, and beverages that are a hit with the entire family. To learn more contact the committee at [email protected]
St Francis of Assisi Holiday Fair (Lisa Martinson and Monika Scoville)
Get the holiday spirit and put a dent in your shopping list at this whole community event. With a wide range of vendors there is something for everyone. Need information or want to reserve a spot? Please contact [email protected].
Of course, there are many, many more examples of wonderful people stepping up to make our school even better. Keep up to date by subscribing to our calendar here.
Get Involved
The Parents’ Association welcomes new ideas for fundraising and community building events. Together we can make our school an enriching, inclusive and enlightening environment for all students and families.
The PA Board generally meets on the first Thursday of each month in the school library at 7 pm. Meetings cover new and existing fundraising and community building programs. All current parents are welcome to attend the open PA meetings. Upcoming open Board positions are advertised in the spring for applicants interested in serving on the PA Board for the following school year. Feel free to email
[email protected] with any questions.
